BUILDING FOR BOUWKUNDE
NAI Rotterdam, Gallery 3: March 15, 2009 - June 7, 2009
13 May will mark the first anniversary of the destruction of the Faculty of Architecture (Bouwkunde) of the Delft University of Technology in a fire. The loss of the building triggered an international competition inviting ideas for a new building. 466 entries from 50 different countries were submitted. The results can be seen in this exhibition. FROM CRISIS TO PROJECT

The current real estate crisis is hitting communities all around the world hard, for example in the American mid-west, in Southern-Europe and in the Gulf region. On March 20th, a debate will be held in the NAi which aims to investigate how professionals (architects and city planners) as well as communities can deal with the consequences of the real estate crisis in a positive way: a course in creative crisis management. Duiker

DIGITISING THE JAN DUIKER ARCHIVE
The NAI has received a subsidy to preserve and digitise one of the most important archives in the collection. Money from the Metamorfoze preservation programme will be used to preserve and scan pieces from the archive of architect Jan Duiker. Masterpieces such as drawings of Sanatorium Zonnestraal will soon be made available for online viewing. Read more...

HYBRID ARCHITECTURAL ARCHIVES
Conference, June 11 & 12, 2009
In a two day conference in June 2009, the NAi aims to map the development of research and experiences in creating, consuming and using digital architectural archives. Scholars, architects and staff from cultural heritage institutions wishing to organise a session or present a paper at the 2009 conference are invited to submit proposals. Read more...
