NAI ON THE MAP
In the past years the number of international activities the NAI has produced has grown significantly. The NAI organized lectures, debates, exhibitions and a matchmaking programme in various locations worldwide. The coming years these activities will continue in order to promote international exchange of knowledge and as means for social innovation through architecture. NAI LAUNCHES THE STUDIO FOR UNSOLICITED ARCHITECTURE
Thursday 21st of October, the NAI launched the Studio for Unsolicited Architecture (SUA) in De Dépendance in the Schieblock. The Studio is dedicated to helping promising design ideas achieve realisation. It puts designers in direct contact with representatives of the financial, commercial, legal or governmental sectors. However, it also provides support through active lobbying, attracting media attention and by helping to clarify and tighten the plan's central concept. NAI PROGRAMME MODIFIED DUE TO RENOVATION
Due to a planned renovation, the NAI building is currently almost entirely closed off to the public. The entrance area will be given a complete overhaul in 2010; in the future, it will feature a deluxe bookshop, a pleasant café-restaurant, and far more space for the educational programmes. > Read more... |

VACANT NL, WHERE ARCHITECTURE MEETS IDEAS
Exhibition, Venice Architecture Biennale, August 29 - November 21 2010
Architecture fans from all over the world will be heading for Italy at the end of August for the twelfth Venice Architecture Biennale. The Dutch exhibition will be presented by the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) and curated by Rietveld Landscape. The exhibition Vacant NL, where architecture meets ideas is a call for the intelligent reuse of temporarily vacant buildings around the world in promoting creative enterprise. > Read more... |

RIETVELDS UNIVERSUM

The Centraal Museum places Rietveld's work in a broad context. By focusing attention on the person Rietveld and his manner of working and by comparing him and his work with famous contemporaries like Wright, Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe, the creative genius of Rietveld is set in a new light and a new image of Rietveld's contribution to 20th century architecture and design is presented.
