NAI RENOVATION
Due to a renovation, the NAI building by architect Jo Coenen is currently almost entirely closed off to the public. The entrance area will be given a complete overhaul. Our library, bookstore, and Sonneveld House Museum are still open. The NAI building is expected to reopen halfway 2011. NAI 3D ARCHITECTURE APPLICATION FOR SMARTPHONES
The NAI and the Architecture Centre Amsterdam (ARCAM) have jointly launched the Amsterdam edition of the free 3D architecture application UAR (Urban Augmented Reality) on 11 November 2010. With UAR, your mobile phone gives you information about the built environment with text, image, archival material and film. DE STIJL IN PARIS
Exhibition, Centre Pompidou, Paris, December 1, 2010 - March 21, 2011
The Centre Pompidou in Paris will open a large-scale exhibition on the 1st of December on De Stijl and Piet Mondriaan. The NAI has loaned more than 100 items for this exhibition from the archives of architects such as Theo van Doesburg, Cornelis van Eesteren, J.J.P. Oud, P.J.C. Klaarhamer, Jan Wils and J.M.L. RIETVELDS UNIVERSE
Exhibition, Centraal Museum Utrecht, October 20, 2010 - January 30, 2011
The exhibition Rietveld's Universe points out that Utrecht architect and designer Gerrit Th. Rietveld (1888-1964) designed much more than only the classic red-blue chair. Rietveld realized more than one hundred buildings and many pieces of furniture. The exhibition is realized in collaboration with the NAI and can be visited until the January 30th 2011 in the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. > Read more... |
